Eric Player

Eric C. Player overcame a debilitating stroke in his childhood, which left him with limb paralysis and epilepsy, to become a successful writer and producer. His productions have played at the Newport Beach Film Festival, Boston Film Festival, Zion’s Independent Film Festival, and San Luis Obispo Film Festival, among many others. Eric has been in the media and entertainment business for over 30 years, mostly as that guy you think you know, who turns out to be someone else. After graduating Film school in 1997, Eric became a Corporate Media Audio/Visual Technician working and supervising corporate events for the LDS Church, Hyatt Regency, and Orange County Department of Education, while also being employed as a screenwriter doing niche (very niche) feature comedies for small production companies with first-look deals, culminating in work as a script doctor on the 2002 indie comedy, The Singles Ward. Later, Eric returned to film school in California and changed his emphasis to producing, while continuing to work, write, and develop. In 2008, he graduated from Chapman University with an MFA in Film and Television Producing. He organized Roseland Pictures with Kanarose Oonhateparuk in Orange, California, in 2006, and Panther Pictures in Garden Grove, California, in 2010; Roseland Pictures reorganized in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2010, while Panther Pictures, LLC, reorganized in Porterville, California in 2014. As of 2021, the company operates out of Fargo, North Dakota. With his short films, Eric has had a successful streak since 2005, achieving Official Selections at the Newport Beach Film Festival, San Luis Obispo Film Festival, and dozens of others, including a 2016 Best Picture win at the Roadhouse International Film Festival for Moment of Anger. Stay With Me, a short film produced in Comstock, Minnesota, was an Official Selection of the 2023 Boston Film Festival, Best Screenplay at the 2023 Silicon Beach Film Festival, and winner of Best Drama Short at the 2024 Glendale International Film Festival. Eric’s feature film work includes the aforementioned The Singles Ward, and More Money More Family in 2015. Recently, Eric wrote and Executive Produced a feature film in Mississippi in April of 2025 that was released in July of 2026. The film, Harmless, played at the Jackson (JXN) Film Festival in July 2026 and will play at the Glendale International Film Festival in September 2026.
