Northern Lights is an intimate portrait of a young woman caught between responsibility and the possibility of a life beyond it. Rory serves as the emotional caretaker to her father, who refuses to accept that his wife has abandoned both him and their daughter, while also caring for her beloved grandmother as dementia gradually erases the woman she once knew.
